ABOUT

LOST AND FOUNDRY

Hey there! I'm Maxine. A Manchester-born Greek raised on the Canadian Prairies before returning to England in the 90's. I've been a set-dresser and prop-maker at places including the Sherlock Holmes Museum and Glyndebourne Opera House, worked in TV, designed jewellery, produced 'zines and travelled with a circus but it was when I started buying and selling vintage that things seemed really to fall into place. I delighted in the forgotten, the over-looked and the discarded items that are all around us. I had a keen interest in lighting so taught myself the basics before getting further training and becoming a PAT tester. It seemed a natural progression to begin turning these glorious, charming and often peculiar found objects into lights often giving them a new life. I regularly work with stylists and interior designers making custom lights, repair vintage and retro lighting for antique dealers and well as regularly run lamp making workshops. Now very happily residing in sunny Brighton and on a canal boat in London with a miniature Schnauzer named Hudson, I work with these world - weary treasures to produce lights which charm and intrigue. My lights are all unique. Just like all of us.
